Announcements:

You must earn 8 AR points for this marking period.  This grade will be their independent reading grade and will count as a test grade.  See the Red Mill web page for lists of AR books your child may like to read.  

 Homework:

  • Reading: Please read a chapter  book atleast 15 minutes each night. 
  •  Writing:
  • Biography Poem Folder- We will be working on these in class every day, but students are welcome to bring them home to work on ,too.  They are due on May 30. 10 poems must be completed by that date.
  • Monday Night-   None this week!
  • 1. Sort and explain the spelling patterns to your parents.  (This should only take about 3 minutes.)

  • 2. Pyramid- Write each of your words as done in the example in your binder.Draw a neat triangle around each of the words.

  • Tuesday Night-

    1. Sort the words according to the spelling patterns for the week and write the sorts on a piece of loose leaf paper.  Be sure to label the top of each category.

    Wednesday-

    1.    Draw and label 8 of your words.  Draw a picture that relates to the word, then label the picture and underline the spelling pattern in the word.  Bonus-color the pictures. J 

         2. Study for the test on Thursday.
